HEAL

Hey Guys!

So I really struggled with what content to pair these pictures but as I was looking around for inspiration, I settled on talking about healing- the not so pretty side. On here, I mostly talk about the light at the end of the tunnel: the joy that comes in the morning but today I’ll be focusing on the non- linearity of it.

In our own ways we all break.

It is okay to hold your heart outside of your body

for days.

months.

years.

at a time.

What’s the line between holding your heart outside your body for a time to heal and not letting the pain overstay? I believe that it truly gets better with time. Time however, means patience, means that you’ll have one bad day this month then five hundred next month but that eventually the bad days become more and more scarce- that’s the hard part. That’s the hard part because just when you think you’ve healed, that you’re fine, then you have another bad day and that’s okay.  Be patient with your healing, it takes time and right at this point when you feel so tired of all it, remember it’s actually gotten/ getting better. That just after it gets worse for a while, the healing begins.

When it gets tiring, because it does and it will, remind yourself that this is nonlinear- that tomorrow could be better and that you’ve already come this far. Remember that this is meant to be messy and not pretty. That today of all days, you must continue to try to pour love into the pieces of you falling apart, to the parts that want to be numb. Remember to be soft. To forgive yourself for breaking.

“Sometimes, healing consists of sitting in coffee shops and writing the years from your mind. Sometimes healing is laughing until you cry, it is kissing your friends faces and being moved and inspired by your life. And sometimes, healing is rest, it is hiding from the world, it is having everything inside of you be still and quietly and eerily bare. Sometimes healing feels like nothing at all, like you are a silhouette of hope and hurt at the same time. Do not fight it. Whatever your healing looks like today, whatever it consists of- just allow it to be what it is. Just take care of yourself.”

This look was created on one of those lazy Saturdays by a close childhood friend, Katrina, who as you can tell is very talented. This was completely unplanned but turned out so great and added some life to my otherwise dull Saturday afternoon, hope you loved it as much as I did. (I’ll tag her on my Instagram if you’re interested in her services) An activity like this (i.e. a photo shoot/ doing make up/ yoga), could be a good idea for a bad day to make you feel better from the outside in.

Remember “The Lord is greater than the giants you face.” 1 John 4:4

Be Love and Be Light,

Michelle.
