Hey Guys ,
I hope y’all are keeping warm. In today’s post , I’ll be talking about ‘The Process’ as the title suggests .
At the beginning of the week , I came across a video where Idris Elba was interviewing adults ( averagely above the age of 35 ) and he was asking them what they wanted to be when they grew up and most of them laughed at first before they answered the question. Then he asked them if they realized that they were still growing up then they finally answered his question. He then asked them if that was what they were doing and for all of them it wasn’t. He went ahead to ask them what was stopping them from what they had always wanted to do and the general answer was that life and reality had taken over so their dreams seemed to fade .
The video opened my eyes and really gave me perspective about following your dreams as well as taking your time to get there but not letting them fade .
Sometimes , life is happening and its happening so fast that we get so overwhelmed and just lose it. Especially between teenage-hood and getting your first job , there’s usually so much pressure to know exactly what you want to do , where you want to do it and to generally have it all figured it out. The pressure can be from external factors like family but many times also from yourself…from within .
This pressure can often force you into making a rash decision and end up doing something you hate for the rest of your life. Then you’re 40 and you’ve been working for about twelve years and realize that you are not doing what you love. My point is take your time to learn yourself ,find out what you are passionate about and do it .When you find the thing you love , take your time to do it . BE PATIENT WITH THE PROCESS .
Don’t hurry the process because maybe your age-mates have achieved their dreams and you haven’t because it’s always worth the wait. God always makes it worth the wait. Hold on to your dreams and don’t let life get in the way of them.
Remember : “We are assured and know that all things work together and are good to and for those who love God and are called according to His design and purpose. ” Romans 8:28
Hope you have a fantastic Mother’s Day planned for all your moms.
Love and Light ,
Michelle .
