About

Hi, my name is Michelle Malonza and ‘Blooming Butterfly’ has been my bold corner on the internet since 2015. I initially started this blog as a space where I could express myself primarily through fashion. Over the years, the writing has taken over and my outfits have a home on Instagram and Tiktok.  For as long as I can remember, writing has been central to my ability to exist as freely and honestly as I can and in high school, when I didn’t have time to write, my style offered similar relief. I created this space as a release and a commitment to myself to continue to indulge the parts of myself that feel frivolous. You’ll find that I use my writing to think clearer, share my observations, feelings and themes that keep coming up in conversation with my loves. Through sharing, I have also been able to connect with some readers in such intimate ways that I’m not sure would have been possible otherwise. Because I reach for words and language to make sense of myself in this world,  I also hope that Blooming Butterfly can serve as a reminder that we’re never really having a singular experience despite how alone we may feel. I hope my words can be a soft landing.

“Stories are how we know ourselves, how we understand our relation to others; stories are the lenses that allow us to look at the chaos of the world and see with clarity and wisdom… If some of us tell stories in order to live, others must tell our stories in order to survive.”

– Joan Didion

    Your blog is absolutely amazing!
I was just wondering how you managed to be able to add posts to pages on WordPress? I wasn’t sure where else to post this question, on your blog. Thanks girl.
