SELECTION

Hey Guys!

Today’s post is a bit of a different direction from what I usually share with regard to poetry but I hope you like it. I’ll be sharing some pieces that I’ve recently come across on my social media that I really like/ love that not only serve as reminders to me but also inspiration to you.

This first part will be based on international authors and depending on the response to this, then I hope to feature some Kenyan writers I’ve recently discovered on Instagram in a similar post. I hope you enjoy the pieces.

” Remember that you are more skin than bones. You are one thousand stories of before. One thousand stories of potential. One thousand stories you’ve yet to see and know and feel and breathe. There’s more to come. And it’s something very beautiful.”

-Victoria Erickson

” Allow yourself the pleasure of believing in a love that is true, before the rot of life seeps into your bones; To feel pain is to live life in its fullest, and though fear may poison your mind, there is nothing more beautiful than love.”

-Chishala Lishomwa

” You can begin again. You just have to want it bad enough. How bad do you want the new life that’s waiting for you.”

-@omfgWAVY on Twitter

“I create. That’s how I survive.

(moment. by. moment)

– April Green

” I was supposed to be a city with busy streets and twinkling lights but I wanted to be a house. Full of warm sunlight and dried flowers gracing its vases. I’m neither today but a hollow skeleton of progress where everyday something builds and collapses. I am happier in this.”

[ A Work In Progress)

-Noor Unnahar

” When will you understand that you are a beautiful person worthy of love kindness and humility. and when will you understand that the love kindness and humility needs to come from you before it comes from anyone else.

-Ruby Dhal

I hope you enjoyed these short pieces as much as I did writing and re-reading them. If you enjoyed these pieces, got inspired or even discovered a new writer and you’d like to see more of these posts, please comment, DM or simply like the post.

He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.” Isaiah 40:29

Be Love and Be Light,

Michelle.
