Hey Guys!
I know most of you have noticed and asked when the fashion posts will be back because last month I focused more on writing but we’re baaack. Today’s post isn’t necessarily a fashion post but it’s definitely somewhere in there. The pictures I’ll share are from a short trip I recently took that became an impromptu hike.
The conversation begun with talk about how beautiful and peaceful upcountry is and then we ended up talking about this famous rock- Nzambani- believed to make one change sexes if you go round it seven times. After a few laughs about this superstition, we decided that we’d go visit it and I honestly thought it’d be a small granitic tor and to my surprise this was it:

After getting over its size, we paid a small fee of 200/- Kenya Shillings then went up. You know how they say the unplanned things make the best experiences? It’s really true. The top of that rock is the most exhilarating feeling- the flood of oxygen into your lungs, all the greenery ( YES! KITUI CAN BE GREEN) and hills give so much peace and clarity. Also, if you are a creative, the juices instantly begin to ooze out of you.
The top of that rock gave me a break I didn’t even know I needed, peace in bones that needed so much rest and so much clarity of the awesome God I serve. It was a break I didn’t even know I needed, a reminder to turn off and tune in, to unplug, to take some time off to really breathe. If you haven’t taken a break recently, I hope this serves as your reminder- your bones need rest, your heart peace and your system a breath of fresh air, give it the chance to restart.
DISCLAIMER: Don’t wear a dress or flats to this destination, you will slide down those rocks on your way back down and the wind will make it extremely difficult to maintain optimum levels of decency.

P.S. This is a great place to go up and have a picnic so if you’re looking for a spot that’s not too far away, this is it.
” Let your mind and heart rest for a while. You will catch up, the world will not stop spinning for you, but you will catch up. Take a rest.”
