I hope I’m not too late to wish you a Happy New Month of August. I also hope you are all doing very well and keeping warm during this cold weather. Today, I’ll be sharing some pictures that will form part of my Mapacha Series which if you haven’t checked out before you definitely should.
Lately, I’ve been taking time to breathe mindfully- to take deeper breaths, if need be and be more aware of my breath. This being a common practice in yoga, I’ve been making a conscious effort to be fully aware of my body at all times. This has been going really well for me because it’s taught me to have better control of certain negative feelings such as anger, frustration or self doubts. Just taking a minute to take a fewer deep breaths when you can sense a particular feeling, perhaps that you are battling with, and maybe repeat some affirmations to yourself can really go a long way.
For me, these words of affirmation are a mix of a few of my favorite bible verses coupled with some words that work to raise my spirits. The words you choose, I believe, should be words that work for you because different words work in different ways for different people. So take time to read through some and you’ll learn what works for you then they’ll just become part of you. It may sound too easy but it really works, for me at least.
So take some time to be gentler with yourself, take a deeper breath and whisper some words of affirmation to lift those spirits.
